Our Belvo boys abroad are continuing to make major waves!

Former stars Kwame Ampadu and Ken Gillard are looking after the Arsenal Youth Squad for the 2017/2018 season.

Both Kwame and Kenny are originally from the Gardiner Street area of Dublin and both played for the underage teams in Belvo where both gained international honours from Under 16 up to and including Under 21 level.

Both joined English Clubs within a year of each other and both have been there ever since.

Kwame

They have had different careers, Kwame was signed by Arsenal and eventually played for the 1st team a number of times before going to West Brom, Swansea and Exeter, where he did very well as a coach.

He was then head-hunted by Arsenal who wanted him as their Youth Team Head Coach.

Ken

Ken took a different path, a year younger than Kwame he first went to Luton Town, who were then a 1st Division side (equivalent at that time to Premier League).

He had very bad luck with injuries and eventually went through teams in the lower divisions before finishing his playing career with Northampton.

He then took up coaching and was Youth Team Coach with Crystal Palace before he was head-hunted to join up with his fellow Gardiner Street pal Kwame.

Their team plays a fantastic brand of attacking football.

You can take the lads out of Belvo, but you cant take Belvo out of the lads!

We wish the lads the best of luck for the rest of the season.
